InProcess with Skylab Architecture & Graypants
InProcess is a quarterly lecture series presented by AIA Portland exploring the creative process of local architects, designers, makers, and creators.

Seth Grizzle, Creative Director, Designer
Seth Grizzle is an architect turned furniture and lighting designer and conceptual artist. His award-winning conceptual design studio, graypants, create products, architecture, and custom installations, among other things, working in various mediums as well as discarded/reclaimed materials. Founded in 2008, graypants operates teams in Seattle and Amsterdam, solving problems and collaborating with clients and retail partners worldwide. Graypants is an innovative model for what is possible when designers return to using their hands, think responsibly, and craft outside the lines. Seth serves on the board of Friends of Waterfront Seattle and the Henry Art Gallery, contemporary art museum of the University of Washington.
Jamin Aasum, Project Architect
As a native Oregonian, Jamin has a lifelong long love of the outdoors, skiing, running, hiking, and climbing. Jamin has been involved in the conception and design of recreation facilities for two decades. He thrives on the challenge of collaborating with diverse teams through the design and construction of complex projects. He has in-depth experience leading projects of large scale and complexity and has worked extensively with interdisciplinary teams. Jamin is passionate about building bridges, establish consensus and buy-in amongst all stakeholders.
Benjamin Halpern, Project Designer
Benjamin Halpern is a designer whose work explores the breadth of the discipline of architecture as it relates to the embodied occupant. He holds a Master in Architecture with distinction from Harvard Graduate School of Design (2017), where he was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal, Clifford Wong Prize in Housing Design, Julia Amory Appleton Traveling Fellowship in Architecture, and Gregory S. Baldwin Fellowship. He also holds degrees in engineering and art from Stanford University (2011). Prior to Skylab, Benjamin has worked with a variety of leading firms across the country.
