Historic Albina Walking Tour…..and Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider

June 23, 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$15
Historic Albina Walking Tour and Reverend Nat's Hard Cider

Albina was the terminus of the first trans-continental railroad and an independent city before being incorporated into Portland in 1891. This was historically a neighborhood with a relatively high percentage of African-Americans. In the mid-20th century this district was an “urban sacrifice” area for the building of Memorial Coliseum and Interstate Highway 5. There are places and spaces remaining in this neighborhood that evoke the late 19th and early 20th century flavor of a working class ethnic neighborhood.

After the walking tour our host, Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider invites you to stay for a while and enjoy a complimentary 12 oz cider, included as part of your tour fee. Around 9:00 PM our hosts will offer a free screening of “The Last Man on Earth” (1964) starring Vincent Price. June 15-25 is Oregon Cider Week and this event is part of the celebration. For more information see: http://reverendnatshardcider.com/news/oregon-cider-week-2017-reverend-nats/

The tour covers about 1 mile and lasts about 2 1/2 hours.

The fee for this narrated tour is $15. Please pay through Meetup WePay when you register to insure a place on this tour.

Meet us in front or or just inside the taproom. Look for the red and white Meetup sign.
